Self as Subject

This will be a two week assignment.
During the first week I would like you to "focus" on yourself in a personal (subjective) way.
During the second week I'd like you to be more objective. Consider - self as stranger - shadow - reflection - distortion

People Shots

For this project I would like you to photograph people using only day light. Explore the idea of taking a picture of a person vs. taking a portrait of a person. Is the photo of the person or about the person? Posed vs. candid?
Use as many subjects as you want.
I won't count how many shots you take, but will ask you to take enough so that you can edit the shots down to 10 great ones.
We will do the processing in class on Monday.

Architectural Details

For Monday September 20th
5 shots of Tyler building
5 shots on Temple campus
5 shots off of Temple campus
This project will challenge you to find interesting images in the architecture around you. You will practice your compositional skills as well as looking for / waiting for the best light. Of course you will need to shoot many more than the five images per category listed above, but I want you to do your editing and processing in class Monday.

File Formats

Which one to choose and when....
RAW - Unprocessed image straight from the camera.
PSD - Photoshop's native file format. Keeps layers...
TIFF - A universal file format for images. Some output centers may require TIFF.
JPG - A compressed file format. Great for emailing and web sites, but not printing or continued work. This is a "save as" format. Always keep your TIFF or PSD for continued work.
